Structures Modulmax is looking for a rigorous and analytical person to fill the position of Estimator specializing in wood framing and/or interior systems. You will contribute to the preparation of accurate and competitive bids for commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential projects.

Your role:

You will analyze plans, specifications, and addenda, evaluate work costs, and prepare bids. You will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to support profitability and the successful launch of projects.

Main responsibilities

• Analyze plans, specifications, and addenda.

• Perform quantity take-offs for wood framing, metal stud partitions, gypsum, and acoustic ceilings.

• Evaluate material, labor, and subcontracting costs.

• Prepare and submit complete and competitive bids.

• Solicit and analyze prices from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Identify omissions, inconsistencies, and risks in tender documents.

• Document assumptions, inclusions, and exclusions for each bid.

• Follow up on tenders and participate in the transfer of awarded projects.

• Compare estimated costs to actual costs to improve future estimates.

Profile sought:

• DEC or relevant training in estimation, construction, architecture, or civil engineering.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in construction estimation.

• Excellent ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and addenda.

• Good knowledge of wood framing and/or interior systems.

• Very good proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.

• Knowledge of STACK software, an asset.

• Very good command of French.

• Proficiency in English, an asset.
